Welcome to The LAST Battlefield. This is where you can find all my art in one place: photo, video, music, and written word. Hope you have a nice stay!
GO TO BED HUNGRY TONIGHT
FIND GOD TOMORROW
when’s the last time you went to bed hungry
seriously hungry
not hangry, not craving something, not no snacks after dinner
not no dinner, no
no dinner, no lunch, no breakfast
hungry
plenty do it every day
try it maybe?
is it too scary
is it too hard
is there no reason?
many do it every day
are you too undisciplined
are you too weak?
try it maybe?
for them
solidarity
for you
one day with more intent
and more commitment
and more- enduring
than a hundred, empty, meaningless
half-ass, screaming-in-traffic- Lent -days
one day
one day, in mental solitude
not physical, mental
a world around cluttered
and chaotic
but the world within
defined
intentioned
ordered
maybe give it a try
today?
tomorrow will come soon enough
and with it
one may fall
back
into
comfort- cozy- glutton- soothing- distracting
distancing- intoxicating- hiding- lying-
dying
but maybe one day
maybe to day
keep an ordered world within
if for no other reason
than the honest inability
to order the world
with out
a body given only to sustain
nothing more
a mind given only the same
nothing more
not comfort, a tree does not ask for comfort
only for that which sustains
comfort- no, too difficult- a slippery slope
what’s to entertain versus what is to distract?
an empty vessel in a room of gushing faucets
but none of which pours water
the mind is a cup, better left empty
than to fill with that which fattens
that which rots, dehydrates, intoxicates
leaves thirsty,
and ultimately, which poisons
the mind, like the body, a cup
better left empty
than to fill with substitutes for
sustenance that is
pure
mirages that leave cracked lips
salt being what’s truly given
the mind, a cup
better left bone dry
from such emptiness only-
is the divine opportunity presented
for the introduction
and shape
of water
when the
skies
finally
break
begins with body
follows with mind
culminates with soul
go to bed hungry tonight
find god tomorrow
